What is Rush?

Sisters

Rush is a period of time for all who are interested to get a sense of what alpha Kappa Delta Phi, here at UT Austin, is all about. It is always at the beginning of every semester and open to any and all females that attend UT. The sisters of alpha Kappa Delta Phi host a variety of events during Rush giving girls the opportunity to get to know us and see what we're all about in a fun and enjoyable environment. All events are free to rushees, and rides and information are provided for all rush events. Rush consists of no obligations and is a great time to explore Greek life and meet new people.

Why should I rush?

All rush events are absolutely FREE and just a chance for girls to dip their feet into sorority life. If you decide it isn't for you then you don't lose anything, in fact you probably will meet a lot of new friends during the process! Rush is the best way to decide whether you would like to be part of the sisterhood, even if you feel it isn't you in the beginning. Most of our current sisters went into rush thinking a sorority was not for them and just came for the free activities and a chance to meet new faces. They surprisingly found their niche as a sister, and can personally tell you what a great experience rush was! It's fun, free, and could lead to one of the greatest experiences of your life.

Why alpha Kappa Delta Phi?

alpha Kappa Delta Phi is the largest and fastest-growing Asian-American interest sorority in the nation. We have more than 5,000 sisters in 44 chapters from coast to coast. Here at the University of Texas, we are part of the Texas Asian Pan-Hellenic Council (TAPC) which is now one of the five major councils that govern the Greek system at the University.

KDPhi

alpha Kappa Delta Phi is founded on the ideal of sisterhood. The sorority is composed of strong women that have forged bonds of sisterhood, love, and friendship. Each sister is different and unique, however special in our hearts which allows us to have a diverse character to the sorority. The bonds that are made and the experiences that are encountered fill college years with unforgettable memories. These memories stay only to create new ones with the lifelong sisters that each KDPhi has. Afterall, sisterhood last for a lifetime and we encourage you to experience the sisterhood of alpha Kappa Delta Phi, a sisterhood like no other.

How do I recieve a bid?

In order to recieve a "bid," or a formal invitation to join the sorority, all potential new members must fill out an information sheet, attend 2 out of 4 rush events, complete an interview, and get their picture taken by the current historian. Bids will be offered after the last rush event, which rushees may then accept or decline.
